The results of the 2016 Population and Housing Census show that the number of universities and higher education institutes’ graduates rose by 51.5 percent during the years 1390 to 1395[1].
Based on the results, number of universities and higher education institutes’ graduates in the year 1395 was 9 million 638 thousand 853 students, whereas this number was 6 million 361 thousand 291 students in the year 1390. In other words, number of universities and higher education institutes’ graduates in the years 1390 to 1395 had a 51.5 percent rise with an annual growth of 8.7 percent during this five-year period.
The census results indicate that in the year 1395, there were 2 million 379 thousand 165 graduates at associates’ level, 5 million 820 thousand 342 at bachelors' level, 1 million 291 thousand 384 at masters' level, and 147 thousand 962 at Ph.D. level, respectively.
